Clayton Albert [Elbert] Luce

On February 8, 2021, Clayton Luce, loving husband and father of 4 children, passed away peacefully in his South Carolina home at the age of 85.

Clayton was born on May 24, 1935 in Etna, NY to [Elbert] Chauncey Luce and Vera Ann Thomas Luce. He worked as a Union sheet metal worker for 40 years at Wheaton's Sheet Metal Company in Ithaca, NY. In 1953, he married Jacqueline Brewer. They raised 2 daughters, Terri and Lori, and 2 sons, Jody and Randy. In 1988, Clayton and Jackie moved to Oconee County, SC.

Clayton was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1960. Bible teachings were very important to him and he loved telling others about his faith in the Bible's promise of a time when sickness, old age and death will be done away with and the earth will be turned into a paradise. His application of Bible principles made him a very generous person and he was known for his willingness to help anyone. He loved helping his friends and neighbors with their projects, big and small and was happiest on his tractor.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, [Elbert] and Vera; his sister, Betty; his half-brother, William [Ford Luce]; [his half-sister Florence Louise Luce Martin]; his loving wife, Jacqueline and son, Randy. He is survived by his sister, Beverly [Walker (John)]; his children, Terri [Van Wormer], Lori [Wood-Thomas], and Jody [(Shelley)]; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
