Ena Jonason was born September 15, 1907, in Montrose Township, Cavalier County, ND, the daughter of Bjorn and Rose Jonasson. She graduated from Milton High School in Milton, ND and attended Mayville State Teachers College in Mayville, ND. She taught in rural schools. She married Sigurd A. Gire June 6, 1928, in Mountain, ND. They lived in the Edinburg area. Sigurd A. Gire died April 19, 1968.
She is survived by a son, Sidney Gire, Richland, WA; daughter, Elaine Jorgenson, Kennewick, WA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Lee, Walhalla, ND.
She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Services: Wednesday, July 19, 1995, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND.
Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg.
