Detective Sandra Battle was appointed to the Metropolitan Police Department on April 24, 1972, and retired on June 1, 1994.
Sandra Y. Battle accepted her wings of eternal glory and peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2021. She is survived by her two loving sisters, Diane B. Sneed, and Lorraine B. Washington; a special niece, Kwelli Sneed who took care of her until her transition. She also had four other nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 900 Delaware Ave. SW, Washington, DC 20024 at 11 a.m. followed by a private interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland. www.stewartfuneralhome.com
