James Alex Michau, age 81, husband of Dotti Estes Michau passed away Friday. He was born in Florence, SC to the late Alexander and Sarah Johnson Michau. Mr. Michau was retired from Springs Industries and he attended Woodward Baptist Church. Mr. Michau loved hunting, fishing, archery and golf.

He was the last survivor of ten siblings. He is survived by one son and his wife James Randall “Randy” and Kelly Michau of Chester; one daughter and her husband Teri P. Ashworth and Charles of Chester. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim Parker (Lisa Mobley), Jason Ashworth (Pam), Casey Jordan (Justin), Kyle Delaney (Rasheena) and Ashley Delaney (Raymond McKee); his great-grand-children, Riley Parker, Logan Foster, Spencer Mobley, Luke Allmen, Harley Ashworth, Cayleigh Jordan, Bradley Jordan, River Delaney, Melody Delaney and Megan McKee; one great-great-grand-child, Nathan McKinney.

A celebration of Mr. Michau’s life, practicing social distancing protocols, will be held 11a.m. Tuesday at Woodward Baptist Church. Reverend Keith Hinson will officiate.
