Last Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, J.B. Johnson, a comparative stranger in Hereford, died after a long illness. He with his family came to Hereford some months ago from Arkansas and lived for awhile at the Boone place on the creek, but recently moved into town. He had been a sufferer from tuberculosis and had come to the Plains with the hope of being benefitted. His body was prepared for shipment back to his old home in Iowa at Guthrie Center. His son and brother came out to Hereford to assist the family in closing up their affairs and to accompany them on their sad returning journey. Shipment was made on yesterday afternoon's train. A short services was held conducted by Rev. W.M. Baker before the departure.
