He was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Sedalia, a son of Harry and Lula Hieronymus Harvey. On Sept. 21, 1958, he was married to Bina Higgins. They were married for 28 years.
He was a 1956 graduate of the La Monte High School. He was an insurance salesman. He was a co-manager of the Plaza West Apartments in Sedalia with his longtime friend, Shirley Alexander. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in La Monte.
Surviving are three sons, Rick D. Harvey, and his wife, Karla, and Steve S. Harvey, and his wife, Jacklin, all of La Monte, and Troy A. Harvey, of Warrensburg; two sisters, Larue Higgins, of Sweet Springs, and Marilyn Acox, of Gordonville, Texas; his longtime friend, Shirley Alexander, of Sedalia; and three grandchildren: Stephanie, Bryan and Allison Harvey.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, October 19th at the United Methodist Church of La Monte, with the Rev. Donna Trollinger officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Hieronymus, Frank Payne, Bob Harvey, Vernon Harvey, Jeff Higgins and Larry Hieronymus. Honorary pallbearers were Marty Osbourn, Al Ramarez, Cliff Bruner, Robert Taylor, Adam Fisher and Melvin Ficken. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18th at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte.
