Marilyn Carr
A memorial service for Marilyn Carr, 62 of Marshall will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Brother Rodger Garbs officiating. A visitation will take place thirty minutes prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Marilyn Carr was born June 23, 1952, in New Castle, Indiana, to Glenn O. Neal and Zelma D. Neal. She was a graduate of Shenandoah, Indiana High School. In 1978 Marilyn married the love of her life, Ray Carr in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mrs. Carr passed away December 13, 2014, after a year long battle with a rare type of brain cancer.
Mrs. Carr was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, her puppies and enjoyed her work as Claims Supervisor at Blue Cross Blue Shield where she was employed for the past 17 years. She had a glowing personality, a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to laugh.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Ray; son, Stacy Carr and wife, Tammy; granddaughter, Abbygail Carr; brother, Ron Neal of Gilmer; sister, Sue Upchurch of Arcadia, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the American Cancer Society.
