Nicholas E. Saunders died at his home on Rt. 50 in Cambridge after a long illness. He was the son of Thomas and Angeline Pritchett Saunders of Talbot Co. He spent most of his life in Cambridge and was employed by the city. He was active in the community as a member of Wesleyan Church in Cambridge, an honorary member of the Rescue Volunteer Fire Co., and a member of the Modern Woodman. His pleasant personality and smiling face endeared him to all in the community. Surviving him is his wife, Mrs. Maude Short Saunders, one son, Harold L. Saunders of Cambridge, one stepson, Thomas Kimmey of Cambridge, one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Mary) Griffin, of Philadelphia, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The Willoughby Funeral Home arranged for services to be held at Wesleyan Church with the Rev. D. J. Wooten officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Dieter.
