Son of Marlie B and Ollie (Massengill) Moore. He attended Selmer High School and played football and basketball. In his senior year he played on the 1952 State Championship Basketball Team. After graduation, he attended Murray State University on a football scholarship. In 1953, as a sophomore, he transferred to Austin Peay State University. He was captain of the football team his senior year and crowned his future wife, Nancy Perry, Homecoming Queen. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University, and his Master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. He spent 39 years teaching, coaching high school sports and in administration. He retired in 1989 as a Fulton County Assistant Principal, coached football for two years at Woodward Academy, and five years at Landmark Christian School. He and Nancy moved to Fayetteville in 1983 from East Point and joined the Peachtree City Church of Christ. He was predeceased in death by his parents; and brother, James Ward Moore of Selmer, TN. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy of Fayetteville, GA; daughter, Perry Anne Moore of Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Anna McArthur Moore of Atlanta, GA; and sister, Marlene Wilkins of Henderson, TN.
