Elizabeth L. Edwards, 95, of Central Lake Township, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at the Eastport Village Care Home. She was born March 11, 1909, in Deshler, Ohio, the daughter of Theodore and Alice (Lose) Sherman. She practiced as a registered nurse for many years in Dearborn and Detroit. Elizabeth was a long-time member of the Central Lake United Methodist Church and the Friends of the Central Lake District Library.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.B. Edwards, in 1990 and by three brothers, Fred, William and Carleton Sherman. Surviving are two children, Kathleen E. (Dr. Steven) Newman of Bloomfield Hills,and Robert S. (Joyce) Edwards of Cape Cod. Mass.; a brother, Dudley Sherman of Stuart, Fla.; two sisters, Jane Wight of Central Lake,and Jean Scott of Stuart, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held in the summer. The family received friends on Saturday, May 1, at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment was in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township
