Phyllis was born on February 8, 1944, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Pete and Eleanor (Yarbrough) Van Driessche. She married Jerry LaMar on June 20, 1980, in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2018.
She is survived by three daughters- Mindy Alexander of Coweta, Oklahoma, Missy (Randy) Nelson of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Tammy Alexander of Porter, Oklahoma; two sons- Brian (Lynda) Alexander and Freddie (Dawn) Alexander both of Summerville, South Carolina; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law- Collette Van Dree of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother- Bill Van Dree and sister- Pat Kirby.
Phyllis worked as a manager at Danville Mini Warehouses for several years, until her retirement. She enjoyed camping, dancing, shopping, going to the movies, going for walks, and spending time with her friends.
According to her wish’s cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services for Phyllis and Jerry LaMar will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at Rossville Cemetery, in Rossville, Illinois.
