Michael Jobe Alkire, 90 years old, died November 7 at the home of his son, Hampton Alkire, Gilliam, Mo. He was a native of Holt county, the son of Michael S. and Margaret R. Alkire, and was a member of a family of eleven children.
Three children survive Mr. Alkire, Arthur N. Alkire of Fort Davis, Texas; Henry C. Alkire of Glasgow, Mo., and Hampton of Gilliam. Mrs. Frances Noland of Oregon is a sister. Interment was in a cemetery at Sedalia.

In 1853, Mike's father purchased 43 acres of land in St Charles County: Township 44 North, Range 2 East, Section 5 (north half of the northeast quadrant), which is northeast of the town of Augusta, Missouri.
