The Rev. Charles Lucian Mahoney, 79, 121 Crowe St., Hanover, died yesterday at the King's Daughters' Hospital.


He was a native of Trimble County, and a member of the Wesleyan Church. He served as pastor of the Mount Tabor and North Fork churches in Trimble County, the Wesleyan (56) Tabernacle in Jefferson County, Ind., and served as an evangelist for man years.


Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; five daughters: Mrs. Mary Ethel Hamilton and Mrs. Margaret Purvis, both of Hanover; Mrs. Virginia Youngblood, Madison; Mrs. Bonnie Tilley and Mrs. Evelyn Wingham, both of Milton; three sons: Denver, Madiosn; Monty, Petersburg, Ind.; and Larry, Lexington, Ind.; two brothers: Hurley, Milton; and Carroll, Bedford: 34 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, and two grandchildren.


Services will be at 10 a.m. EDT Friday at the Jefferson County Tabernacle, with burial in the Moffett Cemetery.


Friends may call after 1 p.m. EDT tomorrow at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton; and at the church Friday from 9 a.m. until time of the service.


Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
