Mrs. Frank L. Cook, 57, died at 8 a.m. today at St. Mary's hospital where she had been a patient for several days.
She was born Sept. 11, 1888, on a farm four miles east of Columbus, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Newman, and attended school district No. 9 in Platte county.
She was married on Dec. 21, 1910, to Miles Morkert and to them were born four children, Kenneth Morkert of Creston, Carroll Morkert of Schuyler, Marjorie, and Opal Morkert. Opal died when but a young girl.
On Oct. 29, 1924, she was married to Frank L. Cook of Columbus and since has resided here.
She is survived by her husband; two sons and one daughter; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Edward Newman of Rushville, Robert and Henry Newman of Columbus,
She was preceded in death by one daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Cordelia Alderson and Miss Julia Newman; and one brother, William Newman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gass chapel with Walter Jackson, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral home from 10 a.m. tomorrow until the hour of the service.

Walter Jackson, Methodist church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Cook had been a patient several days at the hospital here and death resulted from pneumonia. She had previously been hospitalized about six weeks in Omaha. She is survived by her husband; two sons and one daughter; her mother, Mrs. Clara Newman; five grandchildren; and three brothers. She was preceded in death by one daughter; her father, William J. Newman; two sisters; and one brother.
