Leo Wesley Collins, 72, of Columbus, OH, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born on August 25, 1948 in Coalmont, TN, a son to the late Ubert and Christine (Miller) Collins. Leo was an U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He also worked as a machinist with Jeffrey MFG and Tosoh SMD in Grove City. Leo was an avid OSU Buckeye fan, Cincinnati Reds fan, West Virginia Mountaineers fan and loved watching his grandkids Mid-Ohio Bullets Travel Baseball team. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathy Collins; children, Mary (Tim) Martin and Wesley (Machelle) Collins; grandchildren, Eliza, Devin, Dreanna, Devon, Justin and Jayden; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Lester (Glenna) Collins, Pat (Cindy) Williams, Mickey (John B.) Williamson, Judy (Glenn) Waller, Ramona (Randy) Vanness and Paula (Scott) Kern; brother-in-law, Jerry Klinger and beloved numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo is also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Klinger and brother, Charles Schwall. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at First Southern Baptist Church, 310 W. Jersey St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church with Rev. Mark Plaugher officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the start of service. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN, 38101 in Leo’s memory.
