Julie K. Colao, 94, of Kingston, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, after a brief illness. She was born January 11, 1917 in Graceton, PA. the daughter of the Vincent and Anna Barlick Rabitan. She was the wife of the late Fred "Red" Colao who died on Feb. 1, 1983.

Mrs. Colao had been a seamstress for many years at the Jacobsen Shirt factory and several others until her retirement. She then worked at the Helen Oberkirk Center (ARC), Lake Katrine for several years. She was a very active parishioner at St. Catherine Laboure R.C. Church; member Catholic Daughters; Golden Age Club and the Columbiettes.

She is survived by her son Rodger F. Colao and his wife Carol, Lake Katrine, two grandson Brian Colao and his wife Nilda of Richardson, TX and David Colao and his fianc Kristin of Goshen, sister of Vern Boris, Agatha May, Ann Norris, Rose Rabitan and Dorothy Ewanko, several nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Mathilda Misley, Staff Sargent Mary Rabatin, US Army, ret., Vincent, Michael, Edward and Andrew Rabitan.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, Friends may call on Friday from 4 - 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure R.C. Church on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, PO Box 88, Delhi, NY 13753.
