Norma Jo (Kellison) Anderson
November 25, 1929 ~ February 4, 2021 (age 91)

Obituary
Norma Jo Anderson, 91, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister was called to her eternal resting place on February 4, 2021, at the age of 91. "Jo" was born to parents Cora and Guy Kellison on November 25, 1929, in Hollis, OK where she was raised and went to school. Stories of her childhood often included picking cotton with her Dad and Great Grandmother. Brought up to be a hard worker, Jo also found time for fun with roller skating. Jo married Paul Anderson on April 23, 1948, in Bethany, Oklahoma and they were blessed with three sons: Jerry, Terry and Phillip. Jo was a devoted homemaker who prioritized providing the needs of her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing and crochet. For 13 years, she committed to fostering an additional five children at a time who needed structure, stability and unconditional love. She was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and attended Mustang Assembly of God for many years. Jo enjoyed gardening in her flower beds and was known for her Christmas Cactus that bloomed in her favorite color, purple. In Jo's nine decades of life, she learned to be tough, was always resilient and understood the value of experiencing life along the way. For her, enjoying life was found during their annual month-long family camping trip to Platt National Park in a tent, long visits from her family and listening to her sons perform songs by the Oak Ridge Boys. "Mama Jo" will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.

Norma Jo is preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Cora and Guy Kellison and brother Charles Kellison.

Those who wait to see her again are her sons Jerry and wife Leslie, Terry, and Phillip and wife Nancy; grandchildren Stephanie, Brandon and Tanner; and sister Annette Lang and husband Rudy.

A service to honor Norma Jo Anderson’s life will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK with burial following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM - 12 PM on Tuesday at Ingram, Smith & Turner.
