James Edward Worthington, 75, died Sunday, October 27, 1996, at Harrodsburg Health Care. Born January 30, 1921 in Boyle county, he was the son of the late Obie Worthington Sr. and Betty Montgomery Worthington. He was the widower of Lucy Thena Terhune Worthington. He was a farmer, store owner at Shakertown and a craftsman. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a choir member, deacon, trustee and former brotherhood director. He was an army veteran of World War II. Survivors include: two sons, Mike Worthington and Kenny Worthington, both of Harrodsburg; five daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Katherine) Selby and Mrs. Loyd (Norma) Phillips, both of Harrodsburg, Mrs. Linda Snodgrass, Indianapolis, IN, Mrs. Bob (Brenda) Breeding, Burgin, Mrs. Greg (Shirley) Crouse, Beaufort, SC; four brothers, Obie Worthington, Irvin Worthington, Walter Worthington and Bobby Joe Worthington, all of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Marshall (Imogene) Hart, Mrs. Ruben (Betty Lou) Derringer, Mrs. Bob (Mary Elizabeth) Langford, all of Mercer County, and Mrs. Kenneth (Anna Wilma) Coffman, Danville; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Douglas. Services for Mr. Worthington were held Tuesday, October 29, at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
