Arward Marvin "A.M." Dear, Jr. Services for Arward Marvin "A.M." Dear, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son
with Rev. R.G. McCoy and Rev. Jim Lofton officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

A.M. Dear, Jr., age 89, of Pineville, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Hilltop Nursing Center, Pineville.

He was a lifelong resident of Pineville until 1997 when he and his wife, Juanita moved to England Oaks Senior Living Community. He retired in 1972 from the VA Hospital. He held several positions, Chief Nursing Assistant 1947-1954, Chief of Building Management 1955-1972. He had been a member of First Baptist Church, Pineville since he was 11 years old. He had 16 years of military service, 6 years Louisiana National Guard, 2 years U.S. Navy in WWII, 8 years U.S. Naval Reserve where he attained the rank of Pharmacist Mate First Class. He was a member of the VFW since 1946.

Mr. Dear is preceded in death by Juanita "Nita" Leggio Dear, his wife of 62 years and his parents, A.M., Sr. and Allie B. Dear.

Survivors include by one son, James M. Dear of Fairfax, Virginia; three daughters, Patsy D. Tannehill of Pineville. Judy D. Holley of Mapleton, Illinois and Sue D. Tipton of Valparaiso, Florida; one sister, Wanda Lee McCoy of Pineville; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends are asked to call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at John Kramer & Son.
