Anne Maria (Roebker) Van Kirk, age 54, of Lakeside Park, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020. She was a loyal servant of God while actively focused on children, education and homelessness. After graduating from Notre Dame Academy and Xavier University, Anne began her career in the Sycamore School District in 1988 as a special education teacher at Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School and later moved to Symmes Elementary where she enjoyed teaching primary grades 2, 3 and 4. Anne would later go on to become assistant principal and principal at Symmes Elementary. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, faculty and students. She was a blessing and cared deeply for everyone with whom she came in contact. Anne is survived by her loving husband, Larry Van Kirk; siblings, Dr. James Roebker (Susan), Mark Roebker (Molly) and Maria Schaefer (Jack); nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Sarah, Emily, Abby, Libby, Mary, Tommy, John, Leo, Joseph, Peter, Michael, David, Dirk, Case, Audrey and Scott; mother-inlaw, Arlene S. Van Kirk; sisters-in-law, Dr. Elizabeth van Heest (Len) and Allison Malcom (Adam). Anne was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth (Betty) Roebker. A private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church (Crescent Springs, KY) and internment will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery.
