Trail Creek - Mr. Rathnow was born June 10, 1925, in Chicago, and lived here most of his life. On July 16, 1949, in Michigan City, he married Margaret Mary "Peg" Timm. She survives with a daughter, Cynthia Rice of Ft. Smith, Ark; a son, Stephen of Decatur, Ill.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Saylor of Michigan City and Sister Dolores Rathnow, CSP, of Hammond, Ind; and a brother, Albert Rathnow of Natchitoches, La. Mr. Rathnow was a retired employee of Northern Indiana Public Service Co., retiring after 34 years as a master mechanic. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge No. 980, and he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
