Nancy Lee Kemper, 83, a resident of the Roy community passed away on Monday evening February 1, 2021 at her home.

Nancy was born on October 25, 1937 in Forest Grove, OR. She was the second of three children born to Fred and Agnes (Harder) Oglesby. She was raised in Forest Grove and attended Forest Grove High School graduating with the Class of 1955. Following high school Nancy worked at Birdseye cannery.

She met her future husband, Orval Kemper, through mutual friends; they married on May 21, of 1957 in Forest Grove. They made their home at their small farm in Roy and raised three children; Ernie, Fred and Margaret.

Nancy was a loving and devoted mother to her family. She enjoyed cats helping Orval on the farm caring for their various farm animals. She enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and hunting. She liked camping with her family gatherings at her home and visiting with her neighbors. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and dancing when she was younger.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Orval who passed in October 19, 2006, her parents, a grandson; Jeremy McCartney and a son-in-law; Joseph Ellsworth.

She is survived in by her three children and their spouses; Ernie Kemper and Julie Hatfield both of Roy, Fred and Erin Kemper of Sherwood, Margaret Forbragd of Forest Grove, two siblings; Betty Wold and Charles Olgesby, six grandchildren; Christina, Joey, Tim, Johnny, Danielle and Katie, eleven great grandchildren and sixteen great great grandchildren.
