William LaFayette "Bill" Vick was born on May 30, 1908 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of James S Vick and Blanche (Matthews) Vick (ca 1882- ).
Living most of his life in Nashville, Tennessee, Bill was married 1st about 1927 as the 2nd husband of Virginia Currie "Jennie" (Watts) (Craig) (Vick) Daniel (23 Feb 1904-8 Jul 2004), the daughter of James Cullen Watts and Bettie Bell (Wilson) Watts. He was married 2nd in 1946 to Dorothy Sopers. He had also been a Lieutenant in the US Army and served 15 years in the National Guard.
The press room foreman at Rich Printing Company and living at 2540 Woodberry Drive in rural Donelson, Tennessee, Bill was 53 years old and married when he died on February 15, 1962 of lung cancer at Madison Sanitarium & Hospital.
Survivors included his wife Dorothy, daughter Mrs Johnny Daniel of Nashville, son Captain Donald N Vick of Norfolk, Virginia, sisters Mrs Hazel Posey of Nashville and Mrs Sue Fountain of Miami, Florida and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home on February 17th followed with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
