Danny Eugene Long, 61, of Steubenville, Ohio formerly of Dayton, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at his home with his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was born May 1, 1946, in Akron, Ohio. Danny was preceded in death by his parents John and Sue (Adams) Long and his brother, Daryl Long. Danny is survived by his wife, Sherry Baughman Long of 19 years, and his five children, Jeff Long, Tracey (Allen) McCray, Jennifer (Cesar) Mora, Matt (Jen) Volk, and Jason (Amy) Long and his five grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, McKenzie, Hunter and soon to be baby 2008. Also survived by his twin brother, Bill Long, sister, Mary Susan (Gene) Giles and sister-in-law Joanie Long, and loving family members, several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many friends. Danny enjoyed working as a Certified Orthotist for 41 years. He belonged to Steel Valley Antique Car Club, volunteered at Easter Seals of Wheeling, West Virginia and was a member of Stivers Alumni in Dayton, Ohio. He was full of life and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and gave 110% in everything he did. Calling hours are Sunday 4 pm until the time of services at 6:00 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubeville, with Pastor Tommy Mills and on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home, 950 Albert Rd., Brookville, OH, where services will be held Wed.10:30 am.
