Mrs. Mary E. Bishop
After an illness lasting through several months death brought relief Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock to Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bishop at her home on west Pike street. Extreme old age was the chief cause of Mrs. Bishop's demise.
Mary Elizabeth Galey was the daughter of James and America Galey and was born near Brown's Valley March 20, 1830 and moved to this city with her parents when at the age of ten years. In 1852 she was married to John Bishop and to them were born four sons, James M., George W., Harry C., and Edward Stanton Bishop, all of whom survive her.
