Anthony J. Sineway, 76, of East Jordan, died July 29, 1992, in East Jordan. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Kewadin United Methodist Church. The Rev. Harry John will officiate with interment following at Kewadin Indian Mission Cemetery. Mr. Sineway was bom Jan. 10, 1916, in Good Hart, the son of Jasper and Teresa (Gibson) Assinawai. He lived most of his life in the East Jordan area. Mr. Sineway did logging and worked in the saw mill. He retired from the East Jordan Iron Works following 15 years of service. He married Angeline Wilson on March 20, 1938, at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church and she survives. He was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa-Chippewa Indians and the Kewadin Indian Mission Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he loved his garden. 76 Survivors include his wife, Angeline Sineway of East Jordan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Darlene Sineway Jr. of Traverse City, Douglas and Sherry Sineway of East Jordan and Charles and Colleen Sineway of Long Beach, Miss.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Patrick Wabanimkee of Racine, Wis., Phyllis and Thomas John of Odana, Wis. and Patricia and Claude Castaneda of Racine, Wis.; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Titus Sineway; two half brothers, Jim and Julius Shaganaby, a half sister Mary Smith; one grandson, Victor John; and one great-granddaughter. Jewel John. Friends may call at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church after 7 p.m. today, July 30; all day on Friday, July 31; and until noon on Saturday, Aug. 1.
