Estella A. DeLong, 92, of Sioux City died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998 at Matney Westside Manor. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Arnold Herbst officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. DeLong was born Oct. 15, 1906 in Syricks, N. D., the daughter of James B. and Hallie B. (Waters) Myer. She moved to Nebraska as a child. She married Floyd V. DeLong April 15, 1925 in O’Neill, Neb. They farmed in the Holt County, Neb. area for 30 years before coming to Sioux City in 1980. He died Dec. 16, 1993 in Sioux City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and gardening. Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Marion and Sam Baker of Sioux City; one son and his wife Dean and Ila of Lincoln, Neb.; three sisters, Alice Conard of Inman, Neb., Frances Conway of Des Moines, Iowa and Donna Bales of Phoenix, Iowa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Jim Scott, Dean DeLong Jr., Elicia Baker, Pam Scott, Ryan Mahoney and Dick Baker.
