Darwin is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jean; daughter Patricia Muller and her husband Edward; son David Bryan, his wife Susan, and their children Michelle, Laura, and Connor; daughter Barbara Falconer and her children Mark, Elizabeth (David), Kathryn (Gregory), and Jonathan; six great-grandchildren; and bother Earl (Violet) and sister Ruth Sommers. He was preceded in death by brothers Clyde, Stanley, and Mervin.
Darwin was a 1944 graduate of Sell-Perk High School. He grew up on his family's dairy farm near Perkasie, PA, and was employed for over 40 years with the Lehigh Valley Dairy in Allentown, PA. An avid birdwatcher and nature-lover, he was a proud member of the Audubon Society, and one of his favorites trips with Jean involved birdwatching in Costa Rica. In his retirement he enjoyed birding, traveling, reading, and solving puzzles, but perhaps his favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darwin was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whitehall (Fullerton), PA.
A private funeral service and interment will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown on Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:00 AM.
