His funeral service will be held Thursday at Lankford Funeral Home, Deland, FL at
1:00 pm. The graveside services will be held at Newton Cemetery on January 30th 2021.
Bob was born to Rocco and Sussie Compagnone on October 10th 1935 in Worcester,
Massachusetts. Upon completing his education in Newton, Massachusetts he enlisted in the US Air Force as well as the US Army and was stationed in Alaska. After his service he started a family and pursued a career in construction leading to his eventual role as an established contractor renovating hotels and residential properties all across America. Bob also received numerous accolades for his restoration of historic buildings on Cape Cod and throughout New England. One of his favorite ventures was his flight school in Naples FL, a first for the area. Bob was proud of his Italian heritage and known for his famous meatballs. He was an avid traveler, lover of music and had a heart of gold.
He is survived by his loving wife Merydon, two sisters , three sons, and two daughters. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by son Robert and his grandson Matthew.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Judes Children’s
Hospital or Shriners Hospital For Children.
