Allen Baxter, Deputy, Dies Funeral Sunday
Allen H. Baxter, 73, Deputy R2, died at 2:55 p. m. Friday in Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
He was a co-owner of Baxter's Saw Mill at Deputy and was a member of the Deputy United Methodist Church. Mr. Baxter lived his entire life in Jennings and Jefferson counties.
Born May 14, 1903, in Jennings County, he was a son of Zack and Nancy Keith Baxter.
His widow, Louise Mayer Baxter, survives. Other survivors include a son, Donald A., of Deputy R2; a brother, Homer, of Lebanon; a sister, Mrs. Geneva Borders, of Phoenix, AZ; and two grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday from the Collins Funeral Home at Scottsburg. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p. m. today.
