Eleanor Miatovich, affectionately known as Mrs. Mike, was born on November 26, 1931 (on Thanksgiving Day) in Rochester, New York. She was the youngest of three children. She came to California after answering an advertisement for teachers needed in Tracy, CA. In her red convertible, she and her parents drove cross country where she settled into life in Tracy as a Kindergarten teacher at North School. North school became her home for over 50 years. Through the first-grade teacher, Leila Renaldo, Eleanor met her future husband, Michael G. Miatovich. Eleanor and Michael were married on July 26, 1958 in Rochester, New York. Eleanor loved children and was often seen as the pied piper. She was also an avid reader, baker, and coffee drinker. She was a great friend to many.

Eleanor passed on January 27, 2021 at the age of 89. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband, Mike; her siblings Ralph (Doris) Tangry and Dorothy (William) West. She is survived by her son Jay, her daughter Marymichael (John Smrdeli), and grandson Michael Anthony.
