Caldwell resident, long-time member of Agudath Israel in West Caldwell
Alan Stewart Fitter, of Caldwell, passed away on Tuesday night, Sept. 16, 2014, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit.
A beloved father, husband, and brother, he will be remembered for his professional acumen, great sense of humor and gentle nature.
Born and raised in New York City, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School, graduated from Queens College and earned a master’s degree in accounting from Adelphi University.
He was employed at Coopers and Lybrand, and partnered at Moore Stephens, before becoming chief financial officer for The Ninigret Group, a multi-state real estate development company.
Mr. Fitter was an active participant of the Brooklyn Tech Alumnae Chapter, and a long-time member of Agudath Israel in West Caldwell.
He met his future wife, Lauren Davidow, at a business networking event sponsored by Studio 54, and they were married in 1983.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Emily R. Fitter; and by his brothers, Richard and Mitchell Fitter, and their spouses and children.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 841 Allwood Road, Clifton.
