Dorothy M. Wade (nee: Miller), 96 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Mill Manor Nursing Home in Vermilion following a long illness.

She was born November 10, 1908 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania where she was raised and lived until 1926. She moved to Amherst in 1953 where she lived prior to moving to Vermilion in 1999.

In addition to being a homemaker, Dorothy was a very active member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst where she served as a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and pianist. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her grandchildren George Glass and Georgene Emery, both of Amherst, Diane Shaffer of Norwalk, and Bonnie Nelson of Vermilion, and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Harry H. Wade on September 13, 1992; by her son George K. Wade on May 18, 1994; by her daughter Kathryn Wade in 1928; by her parents William E. and Florence Bell (nee: Bowser) Miller; and by her brother Zellars Miller in 1964.

Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
