The family will welcome friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
Ronnie Weehunt was born on Sept. 12, 1945 in Savanna, Oklahoma to Audie and Alice Lorene (White) Weehunt (April 15, 1915-Jan. 31, 1991). He grew up in Wilburton and Savanna and graduated from McAlester High School. He served in the U. S. Army, and after his honorable discharge, he served in the Army National Guard for several years. Ronnie was a long-time route salesman for Advance Linen, which later became Superior Linen, starting in 1974 and retiring after 32 years. Ronnie was a faithful member of the Northside Assembly of God Church, and always looked forward to going to church, not only for the spiritual inspiration, but also for the fellowship with his church friends.
Ronnie is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Coy Turney, Jr. and Veronica and Aaron Heathcock; 4 grandchildren, Hunter Turney, Carter Turney, Kennedy Heathcock, and Jackson Heathcock; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen Weehunt-Saletti and Pete.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Teddy Weehunt and Charlie Coppenger; 2 sisters, Lorene Soles* and Norma Jean Jackson*; grandson, Colton Turney.
