Deshler Rustler 11-26-1941:
Marcus Warnholz was born August 1, 1864, at Lisbuettel, Kreis, Rensburg, Province of Holstein, Germany and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gerhard Koerwitz, at Deshler, Nov. 17, 1941, attaining an age of 77 years, 3 months and 16 days.
He was baptized in infancy at Hademarshen, Germany.
He left Germany with his parents on October 16, 1878 and came to Nebraska, settling two miles southeast of Emerald.
He was confirmed in 1879, in the Lutheran church near Emerald.
In November, 1888, he took out his citizenship papers at Lincoln, Nebr.
He took a homestead in the Cherokee Outlet race for homesteads September 16, 1893, near Stillwater, Oklahoma.
On Dec. 31, 1897, he was united in marriage with Paulina Henry-Etta Fick, at Emerald, Nebr, after which they made their home near Perry, Okla. To this union four children were born, of which one died in infancy.
He was also preceded in death by his wife on August 13, 1918.
In 1926, he came to Deshler, where he lived until his death.
He leaves to mourn his death, one son, John Warnholz of Mt. Carmel, Ill.,; two daughters, Clara (Louis) Hansen of Tecumseh, Nebr., and Marie (Gerhard) Koerwitz of this place; ten grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at the Gerhard Koerwitz home and St. Peter's Lutheran church. Interment was made in St. Peter's Cemetery.
