JoAnn Beatty, 75, of Callaway, Nebraska passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Callaway Good Life Center.

She was born on August 17, 1945 to Joseph and Alverna (Fablinger) Franssen. In the early 1980’s JoAnn moved to Arnold, Nebraska where she started working for Baldwin’s. JoAnn enjoyed working there with her friends and co-workers before her health forced her to retire.

She was united in marriage to Marvin Beatty and, because of this union, gained two more children, Mike and Marcia.

After the passing of her late husband, she lived with her daughter (Janet Rosentrater) and son-in-law (Tim Rosentrater) in Callaway before moving to Broken Bow due to a need for assisted living. She later lived in Doniphan, for sake of proximity to her grandchildren, before moving back to Callaway, her home.

JoAnn enjoyed visiting with friends, watching Netflix, coloring, crocheting, reading books, and completing crossword puzzles. She loved face-timing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time on Facebook connecting with friends and family. Her ornery personality and Facebook comments (IN ALL CAPS) will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Lorie (Dan) Denson of Callaway and Janet (Tim) Rosentrater of Callaway; her grandchildren, Cory (Gretchen) Hauser of Bennington, Kelsey (Jacob) Davis of North Platte, Justin (Lindsey) Geiser of Hastings, Haden (Cortney) Geiser of Lincoln, Taylor Geiser (Adam Buchli) of Beatrice, Nathan Rosentrater of Arnold, Mandy Rosentrater (Jeremy Barrett) of Kearney, and Alli (Kenny) Goodenow of Arnold; twelve great-grandchildren; her siblings, Sue (Russ) Steele of Bennington and Robert Franssen; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and several friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; sisters, Marilyn Cain and Kay Hefty; and one brother, John Franssen.
