Peggy Lue (Persell) Powell, age 71, of Campbellsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born October 25, 1949 in LaGrange, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Violet Jewell (Andrew) Persell.

Mrs. Persell retired from the radiology department at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana. She was a member of Bedford Christian Church, Bedford, Kentucky, loved her animals, family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cookouts, taking rides on the farm, and helping people. She was crowned Miss Trimble County (Kentucky) in 1968 and crowned her sister, Patsy Persell, in 1969.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David G. and Angie Powell of Campbellsburg; two sisters: Patsy Bargo and her husband, Bob of Louisville, Kentucky, and Pam Welsh and her companion, Philip Monroe of Bedford; and four grandchildren: Tyler Drumm of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hunter Persell of Milton, Kentucky, and Mason Powell and Shayla McGuire, both of Campbellsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Penny Persell, and one brother, Ken Persell.
