Mary L. Arbes, age 84, of Linn, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Tipton Oaks Manor in Tipton. Mary was born December 1, 1936, in Hydro, Oklahoma, a daughter to the late Alois and Wilhelmina "Maggie" (Henzler) Arbes.

She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in Jefferson City and a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in St. Joseph, Mo. where she received her RN degree. Mary served in the United States Air Force Nurses Corp from 1959 until 1961. She also was employed at St. Mary's Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and various other hospitals in the area.

She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, Association of Operating Room Nurses A.O.R.N. and National Association of Orthopedic Nursing N.A.O.R. Mary enjoyed fishing, traveling, and singing in the choir at St. George Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by: one niece, Marla Nilges and her husband Tom of Jefferson City; one nephew, Darin Arbes of Bonnots Mill; two great-nephews, Bryton Nilges of Springfield and Conner Nilges of Jefferson City; as well as numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Martin Arbes and his wife Gail; and one nephew, Paul Arbes.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo as the Celebrant. Interment will be in St. George Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
