BILLY J. McCLELLAN (RED) APRIL 22, 1928 - FEB. 17, 2008

Red died quietly at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson of renal failure. Red was born in Ozark, Arkansas to Hugh and Hazel McClellan; moving to California in 1942. He had graduated from San Leandro High School. He served in the Army as a Staff Sgt. MP in Texas. Returning to California, he was employed by Lucky Stores for 43 years. He met his wife, Aune Aukee at work in Oakland. They moved to Oakdale in 1969 and raised chickens and farmed almonds for 8 years. Then retiring in Riverbank, Red always had a huge garden. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping in the Sierras. He belonged to Oakdale Masonic Lodge. Red and Aune were known to cut a rug!'' They were married 53 + years. He is survived by his wife, Aune McClellan; daughters, Saundra Silvers (Denair), Tami Nicholauson (Riverbank), Joanne (Tim) Roberts (Oakdale); sister, Patsy (Jim) Arney (Castro Valley); 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Private burial, with celebration of life for family and friends at Red and Aune's house on March 1, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Ave., Hughson, CA 95326.
