Eleanor G. (Nurczyk) Mlynarski, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2015.
She was the beloved wife of 55 years to Dr. Joseph A. Mlynarski who predeceased her in March of 1998.
Born in New Britain, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Paul and Casimira (Szembek) Nurczyk.
She was a lifelong resident of New Britain, attending local schools and longtime member of St. Maurice Parish.
Eleanor was a long standing member of the New Britain Woman's Club, Shuttle Meadow Country Club, SMCC Garden Club, YWCA, and the New Britain Industrial Museum.
She was a patron of the theater and arts; Hartford Stage, New Britain Symphony, The Goodspeed Opera House, New Britain Art Museum and a strong supporter of CCSU.
Eleanor was very active with the Ladies Auxiliary at NBGH Gift Shop (Hospital of Central Connecticut) New Britain Memorial Hospital Gift Shop (Hospital of Special Care); and volunteered at the New Britain Museum of Art well into her 90's.
She was a Corporator of the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Eleanor was an avid golfer; bowler and enjoyed playing paddle tennis and bridge.
She loved traveling with her husband throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Eleanor will be remembered for her love of books, wisdom, humility, faith, style, and beauty.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Mary-Jo Hrubiec and her husband Atty. Robert Hrubiec of Unionville, PA and her son Peter Mlynarski and his wife Sharon of West Newbury, MA; and five grandsons.
She leaves her sister Irene Nesbit; brother Paul Nurczyk; Sisters In Law Clare Nurzyk, Nancy Nurczyk, and Delores Seleman.
Besides her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Nurczyk, Stanley Nurzyk; sisters, Claire Granski and Jean Shannis.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.
She was laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Burritt Hill Funeral Home in New Britain handled arrangements.
