He was BORN 10/15/1871 at Monticello, KY. He came to Texas in 1889 and had lived in and around Thorndale since that time. Married Miss Sallie Slaughter of Shiloh Community on 7/22/1900. Mr. Brown had been a member of the Baptist Church since early manhood. He was a good man who walked close to his God daily. He was a good neighbor, a faithful companion and a loving father who has left his children a very priceless heritage. Preceded in death by 3 sons.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Sallie; 4 daughters, Mrs. Harry O. Clark of San Gabriel, Mrs. C.G. Gibbons and Mrs. Larry Groth, both of San Antonio, and Mrs. T.D. Sissom of Freeport; 3 sons, G.A. Brown of San Antonio, W.C. Brown of Lake Jackson and Wilson Brown of Freeport; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
