Jimmie D. Moe, age 71, of Mitchell (formerly of Sioux Falls, SD) died Thursday October 11, 2007 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Jimmie D. Moe, son of Olaf and Olga (Christopherson) Moe, was born September 29, 1936 in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended school in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. Jimmie then attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.
Jimmie entered the US Army on January 12, 1955 and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on December 13, 1957.
He was united in marriage with Elizabeth "Betty" Smith on September 30, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Betty Moe, Mitchell, SD; two daughters, Leanne (Gregg) Williams, Sioux City, IA, Michelle (Dwain) Robinson, Braidwood, IL; four sons, Steve (Janelle) Moe, Sioux Falls, SD, Tom (Michelle) Moe, Sioux Falls, SD, Michael (Trish) Moe, Brandon, SD, Brian Moe, Brandon, SD; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a brother, Norman (Stella) Moe, Lodi, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Stella; two brothers, Orval and Wayne.
Private family services will be Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls, SD.
