Arthur Keeney, 72, Akron Lawyer
Arthur Keeney, 72 Akron Lawyer and former assistant Summit County prosecutor, died Wednesday in Rockynoi Presbyterian Home after a long illness.
He joined the prosecutor's staff shortly after being admitted to the Ohio bar in 1922. He entered private practice in 1925.
Born in Youngstown, he spent his boyhood in Cuyahoga Falls, Kent and East Akron. He was a graduate of Central High School.
Mr. Keeney attended John Carroll University, Akron University and graduated " magna cum laude " from Notre Dame in 1922.
He was unsuccessful Republican candidate for County prosecutor in 1934.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, two term president of Eagles Aerie 2301, Knights of Columbus, Optimist Club , Fairlawn Country Club, and Phi Delta Theta franernity. He was a World War 1 veteran, he was a 34-year member of American Legion Post 19. He was a former president of the Notre Dame Alumni Association.

Mr. Kenney leaves his wife, Mabel; two son's, Cmdr David Keeney, with the Navy's Judge advocate office in San Juan, and Puerto Rico., son Richard, an attorney with the Norfolk & Western Railroad, Roanoke Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Zittle of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Mrs. Kathleen Debranski, Westfield Center. Two brothers, Gilbert of Tampa Florida and Raymond Keeney of Akron. 14 Grandchildren.

Services will be 9:30 am Saturday at St. Sebastian's Church and burial Holy Cross Cemetery.
