Patricia Louise (Baldwin) Spain, of Aurora, Mo. departed this life on February 9th, 2020 at the age of 80.
Pat was born on April 16th 1939 in Barry County Mo to Orville and Clarice (Shoemaker) Baldwin. She attended School in Aurora, Mo and resided there most of her life. She began working for Royal Typewriter in Springfield, Mo in 1965. She was there until their closing in 1968 and has always talked about the many longtime friends she met there and how much she loved the job.
Pat was united in marriage to her best friend Leroy Elbert Spain on July 1st, 1973 in Christian County Mo. They spent the early years of their marriage owning and operating a well known gas station, Lee and Don's in Billings Mo. In 1978 they were blessed with a granddaughter. They raised her as their own and found no greater joy.
Pat had a talent and love for baking. Her pies were famous among her peers and enjoyed by her family at every holiday and reunion. She loved spending her days with Lee watching cardinal baseball and taking trips to Biloxi, MS. to play the slots and enjoy the warm weather. Her love of country music took her to many shows over the years but non she loved more than seeing her nephew Travis Clevenger sing the old hits.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Lee Spain, her sisters Joyce Jenkins of Aurora , MO: Velma Clevenger of Branson, MO.; and Paula Hilton of Aurora, MO.; 2 daughters Tammy Rhodes of Aurora, MO. and Sherry Hulett of Marionville, MO.; a step son Edward Spain (Becky) of Springfield, MO.; step daughter Tammy Watson (Kirk) of Springfield, MO.; grandchildren April Standefer (Robert), Caitlin Hulett, Christyn Hulett, Erica Hulett, Jacob Spain (Pam), Lucas Spain, Alex Wilson (Joel), and Kyle Watson; great grandchildren Reed Standefer, Maggie Standefer, Brooklyn Wilson and Kate Spain, a very special family friend Fred Franca (Tammy) and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Clarice, 3 brothers Don, Jim and Lynn Baldwin and an infant grandson Anthony Wayne Rhodes.
Pat was a feisty lady. She was so giving and caring and loved her family and friends so. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the Reavisville Baptist Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
