Graveside services for Calvin Montfort, 77, of Bagdad, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bagdad Cemetery. Bob Daugherty will officiate. Calvin died Tuesday at his home. A lifelong Bagdad resident, Calvin was a retired rural route mail carrier with the United States Postal Service in Bagdad. He had a passion for woodworking, gardening and farming. Calvin was a member of Union Baptist Church, Pleasureville where he served as deacon. He was the son of the late Frank Hartwell and Lucy Katherine Montfort and was preceded in death by his brother Hartwell and sister, Zelma Smith. Survivors include his wife Judy Stivers Montfort; sons Troy (Sue)Montfort, Grant, MI, Chris (Barbara) Montfort, Cropper, daughters Jennifer Stamper, Lexington and Melanie (Anthony) Tinsley, Shelbyville; sister Thelma Rogers, Louisville, sister-in-law Betty Montfort, Shelbyville; grandchildren Timothy, Daniell, Callee, Brooklyn, Hillaree, Christopher, Mackenna and Cambelle, six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Troy Montfort, Chris Montfort, Christopher Montfort, Anthony Tinsley, Dwayne Bailey and Dale Bailey. Honorary bearer will be Kenny Stivers. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 134 Union Church Rd, Pleasureville, KY, 40057. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for the service.
