Albert Coffey, 81, of Bean Station, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at home after a long battle with Scleroderma. He was born on January 13, 1940, in Thorn Hill, Tennessee.
Albert was a faithful member, song leader, and deacon of Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran, serving in Korea and worked as a foreman for the Tennessee Valley Authority until he retired in 1990. He was a Little League Baseball coach for many years and was a great storyteller. Albert was a life-long Vol fan and attended many basketball games at Thompson-Boling Arena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, N.T. & Pearlie Coffey; sisters, Dorsie Dalton, Mae Coffey, Fannie Howerton, and Clydia Spradling; grandsons; Jacob Coffey and Nick Mason; and mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Louise Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherlene; son, Jeff (Kristi) Coffey of New Market; daughter, Tina (Scott) Bowles of Bean Station; grandson, Hunter Bowles; granddaughters, Ashton (Devan) Myers, Madison (John) Latham, and Courtney Mason; great-granddaughters, Keilea and Madi Mason and Evelyn; brothers, Berry (Margaret) Coffey and Ken (Libby) Coffey; sister, Golda Northern; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
