Andy Raymond Mogler, 93 , of 610 W. Cruger, Eureka, Illinois passed away on January 19, 2021. He was born in Morris Minnesota on March 15, 1927 to John and Edna (Freidinger) Mogler. The family moved to Alvord, Iowa in 1932 where he received his education. At age 18 while still in high school, he was drafted into military service during World War II. He served in Fort Lewis, Washington one year and then spent a year in Cold Bay Alaska, the last point of the peninsula. When he returned home after serving his country, he was able to graduate from high school.
He was 21 years old when he turned his life to the Lord and was baptized and became a member of the Lester Iowa Apostolic Christian Church. He married the love of his life, Freida Metzger, on November 4, 1950. They were married for 61 years. Andy worked at Billion Motors in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 37 years. For 25 years he worked as the office manager for the company. The last 12 years while he was semi-retired, he worked as an inventory controller and officially retired at 80 years old.
Andy and his wife Freida moved to Eureka Illinois in April 2009 at which time they began attending the Washington Apostolic Christian Church. Besides his love of the Lord Jesus Christ and his wife Freida, he enjoyed interacting with people and found friendships with people of all ages and walks of life. He particularly enjoyed interacting not only with his immediate family but his extended families of many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Surviving are his three sons, Russ (and Linda) Mogler of Evergreen, Colorado; Randy (and Evie) Mogler of Peoria, Illinois, and Jay (and Holly) Mogler of Elk River, Minnesota, his granddaughter Morgan and his great grandchildren, Gabe and Katy. Andy was preceded in death by his wife and two grandchildren, Elysia Mogler and Luke Mogler. He was also preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings (three brothers, and four sisters).
Also surviving are his in-laws Carl and Lydiann Wyss, Pearline Streitmatter, Russell Wuthrich, and Roy and Evelyn Metzger.
He was a member of the Washington Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan 25 at 10am. Masks are recommended and social distancing will be encouraged. Visitation will be at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington on Sunday, Jan 24 from 2pm to 5pm, where masks are required, social distancing will be encouraged, and a limit of 50 people will be allowed to enter the building at a time. Additional visitation will be at the church on Monday, Jan 25 from 9am to 9:45am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
