Robert Benjamin Simpson was the son of John Calvin Simpson and Elizabeth Hunsaker. For many years, he was a horse trader. He married Ida Martinee Seals of Lorainne, IL. Together, they had three children, J. Norris Simpson of Chester, SC; C. Roberta Simpson Moore of Norfolk, VA; and Imogene Simpson Burch, of Richmond, VA. After living in Illinois most of their lives, Robert and his wife Ida moved to Virginia for their retirement years to be near their grandchildren.
