He was born and educated in Washington, DC, later receiving his degree at New York University. He followed his profession at Mount Vernon and lived at nearby Pelham.
Enlisting in the New York National guard in 1900, he served in WW1 and attained the rank of major. His regiment remained in the Army of Occupation In Germany after the Armistice.
He was a member of Pelham American Legion Post,The Lions Club, Camp Norquist Post of the Sons Of Veterans and the American Scociety of Civil Engineers.
Services at the home of Rev. James E Hoffman of the First Reformed Church and burial at Kensico Cemetery.
