Mrs. Vernelle Davis Myers Nelson, age 101, of Richmond, passed away on January 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wellford R. Myers, Sr. and second husband, Charles H. Nelson; sons, Wellford R. Jr. and Kevin B. Myers and granddaughter, Jill Jenkins Bowles. Surviving are five daughters, Gwendolyn Jordan (Milton), Vernelle Robinson (Frederick), Kaye Wood Brown (Montford), Annie Ross (Donald) and Merle Taylor; son, Carlton Myers (Janet); daughter-in-law, Eleanor W. Myers; 12 grandchildren. 30 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where a viewing will be held Sunday, January 17 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Rev. Dr. Jerome Ross, officiating.
